The peculiar mechanical behaviour of fissured and scaly clays is investigated through advanced experimental techniques, including X-Ray tomography, Digital Image Correlation and Mercury Intrusion porosimetry, for the full-field measurements of strain localization and for studying the evolution of fabric under loading.
